Midwest Chapter cancels golf tourney, 3 other chapter tournaments in a September ‘go mode’

The Wire Association International (WAI) Midwest Chapter has cancelled its annual golf tournament due to ongoing COVID-19 challenges. Organizers determined that the June schedule created too many logistical concerns.

Despite the cancellation, WAI continues to plan other chapter golf events later in the year.

WAI Chapter Golf Tournaments Set for September

Three WAI chapter golf tournaments remain scheduled for September:

  • The New England Chapter Golf Outing will take place on September 14 at Tumble Brook Country Club in Bloomfield, Connecticut.
  • The Ohio Valley Chapter Golf Outing will follow on September 16 at Kensington Golf Club in Canfield, Ohio.
  • The Southeast Chapter Vannais Golf Outing will conclude on September 23 at Rock Barn Country Club in Conover, North Carolina.

Organizers expect these events to move forward and provide valuable networking opportunities for the wire and cable industry.

Event Planning and Sponsorship Opportunities

WAI continues to monitor event guidelines as golf courses adjust policies for group gatherings. As a result, organizers will confirm final details, including event formats and costs, closer to each date.

In addition, event sponsors play a key role in supporting these tournaments. Sponsorships help offset costs and fund scholarship programs for WAI chapters.
