Midwest Chapter’s annual golf tourney was a day at the lake for 1 company

The Midwest Chapter golf tournament success highlights another strong year for the Wire Association International (WAI), as the chapter hosted its 20th annual event at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club in West Chicago, Illinois.

Event Highlights

All 72 golfer slots filled quickly, creating a full and energetic event. Participants started the day with breakfast before heading to a shotgun start on the course. Throughout the day, golfers enjoyed friendly competition, networking, and team camaraderie.

Tournament Winners

The winning team from Lake Cable (https://www.lakecable.com)—Daniel Pelzel, Dan Borst, Justin Albright, and Jack Rosenthal—secured first place with an impressive score of 57.

Lake Cable showed strong support for the event, with 16 employees participating. Their involvement highlighted the company’s commitment to team engagement and industry collaboration.

Industry Support and Leadership

John Markowski, WAI Manager of Membership & Social Media, attended the event and toured the Lake Cable facility. He recognized the leadership and engagement demonstrated by company representatives.

Long-time organizer Kevin Sopczak, now with Castle Metals (https://www.castlemetals.com), helped ensure the event ran smoothly. His continued involvement reflects strong dedication to the Midwest Chapter and wire industry.

After the tournament, attendees gathered for a reception, dinner, and awards presentation, where they celebrated winners and strengthened professional relationships.
