Midwest Chapter Sees Strong Comeback at 2025 Event

The Midwest Chapter Golf Tournament returned in 2025 with 86 players at White Pines Golf Club, marking a strong post-hiatus rebound. Sponsored by Lake Cable, the event featured spirited play, networking, and a buffet dinner. Highlights included team and skills contest winners, plus a raffle grand prize won by Clifford Goss.

The WAI Midwest Chapter Golf Tournament returned in 2025 after a one-year break, bringing new energy and a new location at White Pines Golf Club. The event drew 86 participants, up from 69 in 2023. This increase reflects renewed momentum and stronger engagement across the wire and cable industry.

Strong Support from Lake Cable

https://www.lakecable.com (Lake Cable) played a key role in the event’s success. The company’s support helped boost both attendance and overall participation. In particular, Jack Rosenthal, Director of Purchasing at Lake Cable, led coordination efforts and helped deliver a well-organized tournament.

Tournament Play and On-Course Highlights

The day began with a morning shotgun start, which encouraged both competition and networking. Teams competed throughout the course, with the top group finishing with an impressive score of 63. The winning team included Matthew Bosler, Asa Garland, Matt Zumm, and Nichlas Pellegrino.

Several players stood out in individual contests:

  • Closest-to-the-pin winners included Jack Haberkorn, Ricardo Magana, and Rick Fischer
  • Longest drive honors went to Kimberly Johnson, Clifford Goss, and Jack Haberkorn
  • Straightest drive went to Ricardo Magana

Reception, Dinner, and Grand Prize

After the tournament, attendees gathered for a reception and buffet dinner. Guests enjoyed an open bar, sponsored by Lake Cable, which added to the evening’s energy.

The event concluded with a grand prize raffle. Clifford Goss of https://www.sdi-copper.com (SDI LaFarga COPPERWORKS) won a Honeywell 115-can beverage refrigerator along with a $100 American Express gift card.
