Admiral Cable Expands U.S. Manufacturing with New Mexico Facility
The Admiral Cable New Mexico expansion marks a major investment in U.S.-based manufacturing. Admiral Cable, a Taiwan-based wire and cable manufacturer, plans to invest $50 million to build a new facility in Santa Teresa, New Mexico.
Admiral Cable New Mexico Expansion Project Details
The project begins with a 65,000-square-foot facility as the first phase of development. By early 2020, the company plans to expand the site to 175,000 square feet, significantly increasing production capacity.
Admiral Cable manufactures assembled electrical cords, power supplies, and industrial cables and wires. The company expects the expansion to create approximately 342 new jobs, strengthening the regional workforce.

Strategic Location and Economic Support
The Admiral Cable New Mexico expansion benefits from strong state support and strategic location advantages. Governor Susana Martinez helped initiate discussions during a trade visit to Taiwan, which led to the project.
New Mexico will provide up to $3.92 million in Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) funding to support the investment.
Strengthening Domestic Manufacturing
T. C. Huang, Chairman and CEO of I-sheng Electric Wire & Cable, emphasized the company’s goal to expand domestic manufacturing capacity. He noted that Santa Teresa offers proximity to customers, improved supply chain efficiency, and access to a skilled workforce.
Huang also highlighted New Mexico’s competitive business environment and cost advantages, which allow Admiral Cable to compete effectively with foreign-made products while manufacturing in the United States.
