ZTT Submarine Cable Philippines Project Enhances Power Transmission
ZTT Submarine Cable & System has completed the factory acceptance test and cable load-out of 60 kilometers of 230 kV subsea cable for the Negros-Panay interconnector project in the Philippines. The ZTT Submarine Cable Philippines project strengthens island energy connectivity and supports the country’s national transmission upgrade.
The milestone marks a key achievement in the Cebu-Negros-Panay interconnection, developed by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).
Delivering Key Engineering and Installation Services
ZTT managed the project’s full scope — marine survey, design, supply, and cable installation — as a complete EPCI (engineering, procurement, commissioning, and installation) package. The work included three submarine XLPE cables manufactured and delivered on schedule.
Because of ZTT’s project management and engineering expertise, every stage progressed on time and aligned with the contract plan. The company continues to demonstrate strong capability in complex subsea power system delivery.
Commissioning the Negros-Panay Cable Link
Next, ZTT will commission the entire cable system. This includes advanced load prediction technology and other transmission accessories that ensure high efficiency and reliability.
The completed link connects Panay Island and Negros Island, helping balance energy distribution and improve grid performance across the Philippines. It also supports ongoing efforts to secure a more stable and sustainable national power network.
Strengthening the Philippine Energy Grid
The ZTT Submarine Cable Philippines project serves as the first stage in the broader Cebu-Negros-Panay interconnection. Stage One boosts transfer capacity between Negros and Panay, while Stages Two and Three will establish a 230 kV energy backbone connecting the islands to the greater Visayas region.
As a result, the system will enable faster power transmission and support renewable energy growth across key provinces.
Expanding ZTT’s Regional Impact
With this milestone, ZTT continues to strengthen its role in the Asia-Pacific subsea cable industry. The company remains focused on supporting renewable energy, grid stability, and technological advancement throughout the region.
