Danieli Secures Orders for High-Productivity H3 Rolling Mills in Russia

Danieli, a global leader in steel plant engineering, has secured two major orders for its high-productivity H3 rolling mills. The company will install both systems in Russia, with operations scheduled to begin in 2020.

Danieli H3 rolling mills Russia orders boost production capacity

The Danieli H3 rolling mills Russia orders include a contract with Abinsk Electric Steel Works Ltd. (AEMZ) (https://www.aemz.ru), which will install a 600,000 tons-per-year wire rod line in Abinsk, Krasnodar region.

This new mill will produce:

  • Wire rod coils ranging from 5.5 mm to 16 mm
  • Smooth rounds for industrial applications
  • Quenched and microalloyed rebar (6 mm to 12 mm) for construction, welding wire, and CHQ grades

Second H3 Rolling Mill for Novorossiysk

The second order comes from Novorossiysk Rolling Plant LLC (NPZ), which will install a 500,000 tons-per-year H3 wire rod mill in Novorossiysk.

This facility will:

  • Process 150 x 150 billets
  • Produce 5.5 mm to 16 mm wire rod
  • Manufacture deformed wire rod coils weighing up to 2.1 metric tons
