Hellenic Cables to supply U.S. offshore wind farm and Netherlands grid project

Hellenic Cables Strengthens International Energy Footprint

Hellenic Cables, a leading cable manufacturer based in Greece, recently announced two major supply contracts โ€” one in the United States and one in the Netherlands. These agreements highlight the companyโ€™s growing role in the global transition toward clean and sustainable energy.

Powering the Leading Light Wind Project in the U.S.

Hellenic Cables will deliver 65 km of 132 kV inter-array cables for the Leading Light Wind offshore wind project. The site lies more than 40 miles off the coast of New Jersey and is the only American-led project in the New York Bight lease area.

The projectโ€™s lead developer is Invenergy, with energyRe as co-developer. Cable production has already begun at Hellenic Cablesโ€™ Corinth, Greece plant. Delivery of the cables is set for 2030.

Cenergy Holdings CEO Alexis Alexiou said this project highlights the companyโ€™s drive to create innovative technologies that promote sustainability worldwide.

Supporting Grid Upgrades in the Netherlands

Hellenic Cables also signed a long-term partnership with Enexis Netbeheer, one of the Netherlandsโ€™ largest electricity network operators. Enexis is investing โ‚ฌ2.3 billion to upgrade power distribution across five Dutch provinces over the next 12 years.

Hellenic Cables will supply part of the 40,000 km of medium-voltage and 36,000 km of low-voltage cables required for the project. These cables will enhance the local power grid and support the countryโ€™s shift toward renewable energy.

General Manager Kostas Savvakis said the project strengthens the companyโ€™s position in the Dutch market and plays a key role in Europeโ€™s ongoing energy transformation.

Driving Global Growth and Energy Sustainability

These two landmark projects reflect Hellenic Cablesโ€™ strong global strategy and commitment to supporting the clean energy sector. By delivering high-performance cable solutions in both the U.S. and Europe, the company continues to connect renewable energy initiatives with reliable, future-focused technology.
