Ravicab Cables Private Limited announced the acquisition of Leoni Cable Solutions (India) Private Limited (LCSI), a subsidiary of Leoni AG, headquartered in Bengaluru. The deal strengthens Ravicab’s footprint in India’s specialty cable market and broadens its product offerings.
Ravicab Expands Market Reach
Ravicab stated that the acquisition will expand its market reach, diversify its product range, and align with its long‑term growth plan. For LCSI, the move opens new investment opportunities and sets a clear direction for future development.
Founded in 2013, LCSI operates a 15,000‑square‑meter plant in Bengaluru. The company reported €25.5 million in revenue in 2021 and employs about 190 people. The facility manufactures cables for industrial, signaling, and specialty applications, serving both domestic and export markets.
Strengthening Capabilities in Specialty Cable Production
Through this acquisition, Ravicab gains an edge in renewable energy and railway cable production, especially with E‑Beam technology. The deal also includes advanced processes and systems that support premium product lines such as Kerpen and Icon.
Moreover, Ravicab said the transition will enhance efficiency, improve quality, and accelerate its expansion into higher‑growth market sectors.
Leoni Refocuses on Core Business
For Leoni AG, the sale marks another step in its plan to streamline operations. The company continues to divest its Wire & Cable Solutions Division (WCS) while concentrating on the Wiring Systems Division (WSD).
Leoni’s remaining Business Group Wire Products & Solutions (BG PS) will also undergo review to determine the best ownership structure. Despite challenges from the war in Ukraine, production continues at Leoni’s plants in Lviv and Ivano‑Frankivsk, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.
