Limited time to sign up for New England Chapter Nov. 7 educational program

ACCEL Wire Drawing Plant Tour and Networking Event

The WAI New England Chapter will host an ACCEL Wire Drawing Plant tour and networking event on November 7 in Cheshire, Connecticut. This educational opportunity continues the chapterโ€™s tradition of combining hands-on learning with valuable industry networking. Members will explore advanced manufacturing operations and gain insights into modern wire drawing technology.

Behind-the-Scenes Factory Tour

The tour begins at 3:30 p.m., giving attendees an inside look at ACCELโ€™s cutting-edge wire drawing technology. The company operates three vertically integrated factories in Connecticut and Indiana, spanning nearly 500,000 square feet of manufacturing space. These facilities produce silver-, nickel-, and tin-plated copper and copper alloys for the global wire and cable market. ACCEL also runs a fourth plant in Florida, supplying advanced materials for the aerospace, medical, telecom, and industrial sectors.

Networking Dinner and Community Building

After the plant tour, participants will gather at Viron Rondo Osteria at 6:00 p.m. for a networking dinner. The evening will feature authentic Italian cuisine and a relaxed setting where industry professionals can share ideas and build lasting connections. Combining hands-on education with an enjoyable social atmosphere promises another memorable chapter event.

Success from Past Events

Members may recall the chapterโ€™s 2022 educational tour at Radio Frequency Systems (RFS) in Meriden, Connecticut. That event drew about 50 participants, who toured RFSโ€™s advanced manufacturing operation after a presentation on the companyโ€™s global wireless and broadcast infrastructure solutions. The day wrapped up with a well-received dinner by the Connecticut River, earning enthusiastic feedback from attendees.

Registration for the ACCEL Wire Drawing Plant tour remains open. Interested professionals can register now to secure their spot for this informative and engaging event.
