Cable Supply Scope and Project Timeline
LS Cable will supply 350 km of onshore high-voltage cables, including 400 kV cables, by 2021. The Hornsea Project Two site sits 89 km off the Yorkshire coast in the United Kingdom.
As a result, the project will support large-scale renewable energy transmission from offshore wind farms to the onshore grid.
Supporting the World’s Largest Offshore Wind Farm
Once completed in 2022, Hornsea Project Two will become the largest offshore wind farm in the world. The project will generate enough electricity to power more than 1.3 million homes.
Together with Hornsea Project One, the two sites will produce a combined 2.4 gigawatts of electricity. Therefore, the development will play a key role in expanding clean energy capacity in Europe.
