LS Cable & Wire reports U.S. busduct deal, under-way Mexican plant will be part of it

LS Cable & System will supply high-capacity busduct power distribution systems to AI data centers for a major U.S. tech company under a three-year framework agreement expected to exceed $340 million, leveraging expanded production in Korea, Vietnam, and a new Mexico plant while LS Eco Energy grows its Southeast Asian data center business.

LS Cable & System AI data center busduct deal overview

LS Cable & System (LS C&W) in South Korea will supply busducts to a major U.S. technology company, marking its fullโ€‘scale entry into the global AI data center (AIDC) power market. Thisย LS Cable & System AI data center busduct dealย positions the company as a key provider of highโ€‘capacity power solutions for hyperscale AI facilities.

LS C&W expects the threeโ€‘year busduct order to exceed $340 million in value. Moreover, the unnamed U.S. customer plans to deploy the equipment in data centers across North America and other regions, underscoring how the LS Cable & System AI data center busduct deal taps rapidly growing AI power demand.

To support this LS Cable & System AI data center busduct deal, the company continues to expand busduct production in South Korea, North America, and Vietnam. As a result, LS C&W can shorten delivery times and better serve large, multiโ€‘site AI data center projects.

New factories and global production network

In May, LS C&W announced plans to build two new factories on a 126,000โ€‘squareโ€‘meter industrial park site to produce busducts and electric vehicle (EV) battery components. At that time, the company already operated busduct plants in Gumi, Wuxi, and Ho Chi Minh City, creating a broad manufacturing base across Asia.

The new LS Cable & System Mexico plant, now under construction, will further improve supply efficiency and delivery competitiveness for North American customers. Moreover, this facility will support a growing pipeline of AI data center and other powerโ€‘infrastructure projects across the region.

Regional coverage for AI data centers

LS Eco Energy will cover the Southeast Asian market with a focus on Vietnam as a key hub. Recently, it supplied busducts to a 50 MWโ€‘class hyperscale data center in Indonesia, which demonstrates its ability to support largeโ€‘scale digital infrastructure in the region.

Meanwhile, the LS Cable & System Mexico plant will take primary responsibility for the North American busduct market. Together, these regional hubs give LS C&W a more resilient, flexible supply chain for AI data centers and other missionโ€‘critical applications.

Strategy to lead AI power infrastructure

The company also notes that it is negotiating with another large global tech company for additional busduct projects. Consequently, LS C&W aims to secure a leading position in the global powerโ€‘infrastructure race for the AI era. Kim Wooโ€‘tae, head of LS Cable & Systemโ€™s Power Distribution Solution Division, says the company intends to lead power infrastructure competition as AI demand surges.
