Nexans to Acquire Centelsa, Expanding Its Latin American Operations

Nexansย announced that it has signed a share purchase agreement withย Xignux S.A.ย of Mexico to acquireย Centelsa, a leading cable manufacturer in Latin America. Theย Nexans Centelsa Acquisitionย enhances Nexansโ€™ position as a global leader in electrification and sustainable energy solutions.

Nexans Centelsa Acquisition Strengthens Electrification Strategy

According to the official announcement,ย Centelsa, headquartered inย Cali, Colombia, produces highโ€‘quality cables for building, utility, and industrial applications. Recognized as a โ€œworldโ€‘class cable manufacturer,โ€ Centelsa generates more thanย US$250 million in annual revenueย and carries an enterprise value ofย US$225 million.

The closing, pending regulatory approval, is expected during theย first half of 2022. Nexans CEOย Christopher Guรฉrinย stated that the acquisition aligns perfectly with the companyโ€™s mission to become aย pure electrification player. The move will also expand Nexansโ€™ capacity to supportย renewable energy projectsย across theย Andean region.

Centelsaโ€™s Legacy and Industry Leadership
