Prysmian Supplies Cables for Argentina Solar Park Project

Prysmian Group has secured a major Prysmian Argentina solar park cable supply agreement with Chinese contractor Talesun. The deal covers the delivery of approximately 3,600 kilometers of cables for a large-scale solar project in Cauchari, ArgentinaAs a result, the project strengthens Prysmian’s role in global renewable energy infrastructure.

Cable Supply and Project Scope

Prysmian will supply a full range of instrumentation and control cables, along with low- and medium-voltage cables, from its facilities in Tianjin and Yixing, China. The company will also deliver more than 1,100 medium-voltage accessories and connectors.

In addition, Prysmian Electronics will provide 100 Pry-Cam Grids and one Pry-Cam Portable for monitoring. Teams in Argentina will oversee supervision services (KOM) for both medium-voltage accessories and Pry-Cam systems. Together, these solutions will support efficient and reliable solar plant operations.

Strategic Solar Project in Argentina

The Cauchari solar park marks the first project under the “One Belt, One Road” (OBOR) initiative between China and Argentina. Talesun is working on behalf of Shanghai Electric, the project’s main contractor.

The development will deliver a 315 MW photovoltaic plant in Jujuy Province, near the Chilean border. The site sits at an altitude of 4,100 meters, offering strong solar generation potential. On average, the facility will produce 55,073 MWh per month. The system will transmit power through a 345 kV line connecting Andes (Chile) to Cobos (Salta, Argentina).
