Prysmian Saint-Brieuc Offshore Wind Contract Strengthens Energy Transition

Prysmian Groupย has secured anย โ‚ฌ80 million contractย for theย Prysmian Saint-Brieuc offshore windย project in France. The company will supply advancedย submarine inter-array cable systemsย to support the development of the offshore wind farm.

Prysmian Saint-Brieuc Offshore Wind Cable System

Prysmian will deliver approximatelyย 90 kilometers of three-core 66 kV HVAC XLPE-insulated cables. These high-performance systems willย increase power transmission efficiencyย and support reliable offshore operations.

Theย 66 kV cable technologyย allows the project to transmitย twice the powerย compared to traditional 33 kV systems, improving overall performance and scalability.

Manufacturing and Project Delivery

Prysmian will manufacture cable cores at its facilities inย Montereau-Fault-Yonne and Gron, France. The company will then assemble and complete the cables at its plant inย Nordenham, Germany. This approach supportsย local manufacturingย while maintaining consistent quality standards.

Prysmian plans to completeย delivery and commissioning by the end of 2022, ensuring the project stays on schedule.

Company leaders highlighted the importance of the award. Hakan Ozmen noted that the project reinforces Prysmianโ€™sย technological leadershipย and supports theย energy transition in France. Olivier Angoulevant added that the contract strengthens Prysmianโ€™s role as aย one-stop solution providerย across the offshore wind supply chain.
