RFS HYBRIFLEX Cable Investment in Meriden, Connecticut
Radio Frequency Systems (RFS), a global wireless and broadcast infrastructure provider, has made a seven-figure RFS HYBRIFLEX cable investment at itsย Meriden, Connecticutย facility. This move supports rising demand for HYBRIFLEX riser and jumper cables used in 4G, 5G, and next-generation networks.
RFS added new state-of-the-art cable manufacturing equipment to increase capacity and flexibility. At the same time, it continues to operate its existing lines, so overall output and responsiveness both increase rather than simply shifting.
Faster Lead Times and More Cable Output
With the new equipment, RFS reacts more quickly to requests for custom designs and prototypes. As a result, the company has reduced new product development lead times by aboutย 25%, helping customers move from concept to deployment sooner.
In addition, RFS hasย doubled bulk cable production capacityย at the Meriden plant. This extra output supports large 4G and 5G deployments and prepares the facility for future high-bandwidth applications that require reliable hybrid fiber and power cabling.
Supporting Growing Telecom Demand
โThe recent pandemic has emphasized just how reliant the U.S., and the rest of the world, is on telecommunication,โ saidย Matt Gauvin, global product line manager for optical fiber and power solutions at RFS. Because of this increased reliance, and the rollout of next-generation mobile services, he expects a strong surge in demand.
By investing in U.S. manufacturing, RFS strengthens local supply, shortens delivery times, and better supports carriers and network builders. This expansion also underscores the companyโs long-term commitment to the North American telecom market and the evolution of wireless infrastructure.
