Deal Expands Portfolio Into Downstream Cable Automation
Rosendahl Nextrom will expand its portfolio with Windakโs downstream technologies.
Windak will continue to operate as an independent business unit under its established brand. Management will remain at existing locations to preserve operational continuity and customer proximity.
Rosendahl Nextrom leadership has emphasized seamless integration with minimal disruption.
Upstream and Downstream Capabilities Now Under One Group
Rosendahl Nextrom is known for upstream and mid-line production systems. Its core strengths include:
- Extrusion lines
- Insulation and jacketing systems
- Complete production lines for low-voltage, automotive, and specialty cables
The company operates its main plant in Pischelsdorf, Austria, with additional sites in Finland and Romania.
Windak operates at the downstream end of cable manufacturing. The company supplies:
- In-line rewind lines
- Coilers and spooling systems
- Reel and box packaging systems
- Automated reel handling and logistics equipment
These systems typically follow extrusion or take-up sections in cable production. Windak is headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, and runs a process and training center in North Carolina.

Windak began operations in 1994 in Stockholm. The company later established headquarters in Tallinn and expanded globally.
Johann Jaekel and Ashley Brettell will remain based in Tallinn. Dan Shelander and Madis Tomson will lead the U.S. branch operations.
Windak will continue to build on its expertise in automated coiling, packaging, and material handling. Rosendahl Nextrom will support that growth with its broader upstream process portfolio.
