Kyungshin Serbia EV Cable Plant Supports Europeโ€™s EV Supply Chain

South Koreaโ€™sย Kyungshin Groupย has opened a new production facility in theย Guberash industrial zone of Smederevska Palanka, Serbia, to manufactureย battery components for high-tech electric vehicles. Theย Kyungshin Serbia EV Cable Plantย strengthens the companyโ€™s European footprint and supports growing demand from global automakers.

Kyungshin Serbia EV Cable Plant Targets European EV Market

According to theย Kyungshin Groupย website, the company supplies major OEMs such asย Hyundaiย andย Kiaย and already operates production sites inย China, India, Honduras, and Poland. The new Serbian facility,ย Kyungshin Cable Europe, will primarily serve theย European marketย with EV-related components and systems.

Serbian Presidentย Aleksandar Vuฤiฤ‡ย attended the grand opening ceremony, underscoring the plantโ€™s importance for local industry and foreign investment. Serbiaโ€™sย Development Agency (RAS)ย reports that Kyungshin plans to createย about 700 new jobs by the end of 2022, providing a significant boost to employment and regional manufacturing capability.

Kyungshin Cableโ€™s Expanding Global Network

Kyungshin Cable Europeย forms part of the broaderย Kyungshin Group, which also operates facilities in theย U.S., Mexico, China, Poland, and South Korea. Founded inย 1974, Kyungshin Cable initially focused onย automotive and industrial wires and cables.

Over time, the company expanded its core activities to includeย high- and low-voltage electric vehicle components, aligning its portfolio with new trends in the automotive industry and the rapid shift toward electrification. The Serbian operation further integrates into this global network, giving European EV manufacturers a regional source for critical battery and cable components.
