Southwire Acquires Garvin Industries to Expand Product Offering

Southwire has completed a strategic Southwire acquisition of Garvin Industries to support long-term growth and sustainability goals. The deal strengthens Southwire’s position in the electrical and low-voltage products market while expanding its ability to deliver custom solutions.

Expanding Capabilities with Garvin Industries

Garvin Industries, based in Franklin Park, Illinois, has operated for more than 120 years. The company designs innovative, labor-saving electrical and lighting products that solve common installation challenges. In addition, its team of about 30 employees develops custom products tailored to customer specifications.

Supporting Growth and Customer Focus

Southwire aims to grow 50% over the next five yearsAccording to CEO Rich Stinson, the company will focus on listening to customers and delivering targeted solutions. As a result, the acquisition allows Southwire to expand its product portfolio and better serve evolving customer needs.

Integration into Southwire Operations

The agreement includes Garvin’s manufacturing, distribution, and corporate support functions. Furthermore, Southwire will integrate Garvin employees into its Tools and Assembled Products Business Unit. This move strengthens internal capabilities and enhances product alignment.

Brandon Moss, president of the Tools and Assembled Products unit, emphasized that Garvin’s focus on customer service, value, and innovation aligns closely with Southwire’s core offerings. Therefore, the acquisition creates new opportunities to bundle Garvin products with Southwire’s existing wire and cable solutions.
