Production moves to other Southwire facilities
According to local reports, Southwire acquired the Hayesville facility in 2014 and currently employs about 45 people at the site. The company will shift production from Hayesville to other Southwire plants in its network to improve efficiency and better utilize its existing capacity.
Southwire noted that the decision does not reflect negatively on the employees, product quality, or plant performance. Instead, leadership emphasized the need to optimize how facilities support the company’s long-term goals.

Southwire President and CEO Rich Stinson stated that the company does not take this decision lightly. He explained that Southwire continues to review its operations to ensure facilities align with its long-term strategy.
By consolidating production, Southwire aims to make the best use of its manufacturing footprint and continue to meet the needs of its customers through improved operational alignment and resource allocation.
