Tele-Fonika Kable signs letter of intent to collaborate on offshore wind farm in Poland

Tele-Fonika Kable and ARP Partner to Boost Offshore Wind Development in Poland

Tele-Fonika Kable (TFK) and the Industrial Development Agency (ARP) of Poland signed a letter of intent on January 28, 2025, to strengthen cooperation in offshore wind energy (OWE). The partnership focuses on advanced cable manufacturing and the construction of a new cable-laying vessel to support offshore wind projects in the Baltic Sea and other regions.

Enhancing Offshore Capabilities

Through this agreement, both companies plan to develop specialized cable-laying vessels (CLVs) for installing and maintaining subsea cables. These vessels will play a crucial role in powering and connecting offshore wind farms. In addition, the two partners will design and build support vessels for maintenance and logistics work in both the Baltic and North Seas.

Together, TFK and ARP will also focus on creating new marine infrastructure that supports Europeโ€™s offshore energy expansion. The investment highlights Polandโ€™s growing expertise in renewable energy technologies and maritime engineering.

Strengthening Local Industry and Sustainability

The initiative prioritizes local content by using Polish shipyards, engineering talent, and suppliers. This approach will stimulate the domestic economy while ensuring that Poland plays a larger role in the global offshore wind supply chain.

To manage the project efficiently, TFK and ARP will form a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to oversee design, construction, and vessel deployment. The SPV will ensure that each project meets top technological standards and follows sustainable development goals.

Accelerating Polandโ€™s Renewable Future

The collaboration will also include knowledge-sharing, research, and data exchange to optimize planning and execution. Both partners see the agreement as a strategic step toward building a stronger offshore wind foundation for Poland.

By combining resources and expertise, TFK and ARP aim to support the countryโ€™s energy transition while boosting its position in Europeโ€™s renewable market. For additional information, visit Tele-Fonika Kableโ€™s website.
