WAI Western Chapter Revitalization Gains Momentum

The WAI Western Chapter revitalization effort marks a renewed push to rebuild regional engagement across the wire and cable industry. The Wire Association International (WAI) has started internal initiatives to restore the chapter after several years of inactivity.

Originally established in California in 1999, the Western Chapter once delivered strong education programs and networking events. However, company relocations and leadership transitions gradually reduced participation, leading the chapter to become inactive after 2015.

Renewed Focus on Growth and Engagement

Now, WAI leadership is actively working to reestablish the chapter. Recent feedback from members highlights strong demand for regional networking opportunities and industry education programs.

According to WAI Membership Manager John Markowski, interest continues to grow, particularly in Texas, where a strong base of manufacturers and suppliers supports expansion efforts.

In addition, WAI is considering expanding the chapter’s reach into Monterrey, Mexico, a key hub for wire and cable companies. The region will also host the WAI International Technical Conference from November 13–15. Regional Coverage and Participation

The Western Chapter will serve a broad region, including Texas, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, Utah, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska.

WAI encourages members in these areas to participate in rebuilding efforts. Interested professionals can contact John Markowski at jmarkowski@wirenet.org.
