Planning for Interwire 2027 is well underway in Atlanta, where WAI staff, volunteer leaders, committee members, and industry partners are coordinating the May 2027 event at the Georgia World Congress Center. For most attendees, Interwire is a three-day experience featuring the latest technology, technical education, networking, and North America’s largest wire and cable trade exposition.
Planning moved into full swing after Wire Expo this past May as staff began aligning the many moving pieces that make up Interwire. Every planning meeting, floor plan revision, educational discussion, and operational decision is centered on delivering an exceptional experience for exhibitors, attendees, speakers, and sponsors.
Current efforts include refining the conference education strategy, reviewing meeting space layouts, coordinating with the Georgia World Congress Center and service partners, developing sponsorship opportunities, and enhancing the overall attendee experience. As with every Interwire, the process begins by reviewing lessons learned from previous events and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
A key initiative is a redesigned Exhibitor Guide, paired with an online Exhibitor Resource Center. Together, these resources are being developed to provide exhibitors with clearer guidance, streamlined planning information, and easier access to important deadlines and services throughout the planning process.
The exhibit hall continues to show strong support. The 100,300-square-foot exhibition floor is 93% sold, with 26 booth spaces remaining. WAI’s sales team is working with prospective exhibitors to close the remaining space.
Education remains a major focus. The 2027 conference theme is, “Safety Starts Here: Safer Work. Stronger Industry.” WAI is collaborating with subject matter experts to develop a program that addresses today’s most pressing challenges while preparing professionals for tomorrow’s opportunities. Session planning includes identifying emerging technologies, operational best practices, workforce development topics, and practical solutions that attendees can apply within their organizations.
Interwire is the result of collaboration across WAI’s sales, marketing, education, IT, accounting, and membership teams, along with many hours contributed by volunteer leaders, committee members, exhibitors, speakers, sponsors, and service partners. This collective effort ensures that registration, educational programming, exhibitor services, and attendee communications work together to create a valuable experience for the industry.
Although attendees experience Interwire over just three days, planning spans nearly two years. Much of this work occurs behind the scenes, reflecting WAI’s year-round commitment to advancing the wire and cable industry through education, professional development, networking, and collaboration.
As preparations continue in the months ahead, WAI will share additional milestones on the road to Interwire 2027 and looks forward to welcoming the global wire and cable community back to Atlanta in May 2027.
