The John Markowski WAI departure marks a transition after five years of leadership in membership and social media at the Wire Association International (WAI).
Leadership Transition
John Markowski, WAI’s Manager of Membership & Social Media, has accepted a new role with Kubtec Medical Imaging (https://www.kubtec.com), a Connecticut-based medical manufacturer.
Markowski joined WAI in 2018 as an intern while attending Albertus Magnus College. Over time, he advanced into a leadership role and helped strengthen the association’s digital presence and member engagement.
During his tenure, he increased membership by 30% over two and a half years. He also managed five chapter boards, the Member Relations Committee, the internship program, and supported event planning initiatives.
Contributions and Industry Impact
Markowski emphasized the value of his experience, noting the strong relationships and professional growth he gained during his time with WAI. His work helped build a more connected and engaged member community.
Additional Staff Changes
WAI also announced that Gina Guzowski, former Sales Manager, has left the organization. She joined WAI in 2022 and contributed to major industry events, including Wire Expo 2022 and wire Düsseldorf 2022.
WAI Executive Director Steve Fetteroll acknowledged both departures and emphasized the organization’s ability to adapt while continuing to support the wire and cable industry.
