The Wire Association International (WAI) has appointed John Markowski as project manager of education, reinforcing its commitment to advancing the WAI education and training program across the wire and cable industry.
WAI Education and Training Program Gains Leadership
In his new role, Markowski will lead the development of a comprehensive training and development program designed to equip members with practical, job-ready skills. He will focus on creating content that directly supports wire and cable manufacturing operations, including real-world applications on the shop floor.
WAI Executive Director Steve Fetteroll (https://www.wirenet.org) welcomed Markowski back, highlighting his experience and past contributions to the organization.
Call for Industry Experts and Contributors
Markowski is actively seeking industry experts to contribute to the training program. He encourages professionals with expertise in wire manufacturing, machinery, and quality control to participate in developing engaging learning modules.
This collaborative approach will help ensure that WAI delivers relevant, high-quality educational content to its global membership.
LMS Development and Future Learning Initiatives
Markowski will also support the rollout of WAI’s Learning Management System (LMS). The platform will deliver video-based training modules that explain both the “how” and “why” behind manufacturing processes.
This initiative aims to modernize how WAI delivers education and improve accessibility for professionals across the industry.
Industry Experience and Background
Markowski brings a strong history with WAI. He joined the organization in 2018 as an intern while attending Albertus Magnus College, then advanced to marketing associate and later manager of membership and social media.
After departing in 2023, he has now returned to take on this expanded leadership role. He will also contribute to upcoming initiatives, including the Fundamentals of Wire Manufacturing Course at Wire Expo 2024.
