The Wire Association International (WAI) Board of Directors voted unanimously on December 10, 2020, to move Interwire 2021 from May 11–13 to October 26–27, 2021. The event will return to the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) in Atlanta (https://www.gwcc.com), where it will host the association’s flagship trade exposition in Hall A. Interwire 2021 Reschedule Supports Industry Recovery
WAI leadership spent several months reviewing alternative dates before selecting the October timeframe. This 22-week delay provides additional time for vaccines, therapeutics, and the easing of travel restrictions.
WAI President Thomas Heberling of Southwire (https://www.southwire.com) emphasized the importance of the event and encouraged continued industry support. He expressed confidence that conditions will improve and allow the industry to reconnect in Atlanta.
Updated Event Format and Planning
The updated schedule shortens the event from two-and-a-half days to two full days, with plans for extended exhibition hours. WAI staff continues to coordinate with the GWCC and local hotels to secure optimal arrangements.

Previous Event Disruptions
Earlier in 2020, WAI postponed and later canceled the Operations Summit & Wire Expo in Connecticut. The association also canceled its International Technical Conference in Monterrey, Mexico, due to ongoing pandemic challenges.
