The WAI New England Chapter meeting 2023 delivered a high-energy gathering at Mohegan Sun Casino in Montville, Connecticut. More than 120 members and guests attended, creating opportunities for networking, leadership recognition, and industry connection.
Attendees engaged in a full schedule that included introductions of new officers, an inspiring keynote presentation, and interactive activities that reflected the strength of the wire and cable industry community.
New Leadership Announced
The chapter introduced its 2023 leadership team, including:

Meanwhile, Mike Sarni of <a href=”https://www.insulatedwire.com” target=”_blank”>Insulated Wire, Inc.</a> continues to support the chapter as Past PresidentPast President.
Strong Attendance and Future Growth
The event filled the Mohegan Sun Cabaret Theater, reflecting strong post-pandemic engagement. As a result, organizers plan to explore larger venue options within Mohegan Sun for the 2024 meeting.
Jessica Foss emphasized the importance of maintaining a close-knit industry community while continuing to expand the chapter’s presence. She highlighted plans to grow through networking events, educational programs, and facility tours that help members deepen their industry knowledge.
Keynote and Member Experience
Keynote speaker Michelle Dray, creator of the “Getting Unstuck & Leading Fearlessly” program, delivered a presentation focused on career development and leadership growth. She outlined how professionals at different career stages can identify and overcome career stagnation, earning strong feedback from attendees.
In addition, the event featured a photobooth experience led by award-winning photographer Ashley Abel, giving attendees professional headshots and group photos.
Chapter Activity and Industry Events
The chapter reviewed its 2022 activities, which included a successful golf tournament at Tunxis Country Club and a facility tour at the <a href=”https://www.rfsworld.com” target=”_blank”>RFS plant</a> in Meriden. Both events drew strong participation and supported ongoing member engagement.

Raffle, Awards, and Industry Recognition
The event also raised funds for the chapter’s scholarship program through a raffle featuring prizes such as:
- Boston Bruins tickets, sponsored by Lloyd & Bouvier
- Boston Red Sox tickets, provided by Gem Gravure Co., Inc.
- Concert tickets from Mohegan Sun
Additionally, the chapter introduced a new golf tournament trophy, awarded to Proterial Cable America. This new tradition adds a competitive edge ahead of the September 11, 2023, tournament.
