Scholarship applications are now open through The Wire Association International (WAI) chapters in New England, the Midwest, the Ohio Valley, and the Southeast. Eligible chapter members in good standing may nominate a family member, and WAI has streamlined the process so participation feels easier than ever.
Simple online application process
Applicants can start by visiting the appropriate online application form. Alternatively, they can contact WAI Project Manager Vanessa Lewis at vlewis@wirenet.org for assistance. All completed applications must arrive by March 31 to receive consideration.
This simplified online format reflects WAI’s ongoing effort to reduce barriers and encourage broader participation across regional chapters.
Strong chapter support sustains scholarships
Over the years, WAI chapter members have consistently shown strong support for the scholarship program. In many cases, contributors give generously even when they do not have eligible applicants in their own households.
Funding for the scholarships comes primarily from chapter‑led fundraising activities, including golf tournaments and annual meetings. In addition, support from the WAI Foundation helps sustain educational opportunities for students connected to the wire and cable industry.
Investing in the industry’s future
Through these scholarship programs, WAI chapters reinforce the association’s long‑standing commitment to workforce development and education. By supporting students and families tied to the industry, the program helps strengthen the future talent pipeline for wire and cable manufacturing and related fields.
WAI also expresses appreciation to all chapter volunteers, donors, and organizers. Their continued involvement has turned the scholarship program into a lasting success and an important benefit for the community.
