The Wire Association International (WAI) will introduce its WAI online training program at the WAI Resource Center during Wire Expo. This new initiative marks a major step forward in professional development for the wire and cable industry.
WAI Online Training Program Showcases First Metallurgy Module
The WAI online training program will feature its first video, “Introduction to Ferrous Metallurgy,” part of the Fundamentals of Ferrous Metallurgy module. WAI designed the content to deliver clear, engaging instruction through a blend of animated visuals and real shop floor footage.
Each video includes interactive knowledge checks, allowing learners to reinforce key concepts as they progress.
Innovative Learning Experience for Industry Professionals
WAI partnered with a specialized motion design company to produce high-quality training content. Industry experts will review each module to ensure technical accuracy and relevance.
WAI plans to release multiple modules each year, creating a growing library of on-demand training resources. The preview at Wire Expo will give attendees an early look at the platform’s capabilities.
LMS Launch and Future Development
Later this year, WAI will launch the full learning management system (LMS) alongside the complete metallurgy module. The platform will support interactive learning, progress tracking, and scalable training solutions for companies across the industry.
According to WAI President Daniel Blais of Prysmian (https://www.prysmiangroup.com), the program will help professionals build essential skills and stay competitive in a rapidly evolving manufacturing environment.
WAI Executive Director Steve Fetteroll emphasized the organization’s commitment to advancing education and collaboration across its global network. Learn more at https://www.wirenet.org.
