Axjo Plastics Windak Partnership Overview

Axjo Plastics AB has acquired a 24% ownership stake in Windak AB, strengthening a long-standing partnership between the two Swedish companies. The Axjo Plastics Windak partnership builds on more than 15 years of collaboration in cable packaging and equipment solutions.

Strategic Benefits for Customers

Windak CEO Urban Bollö emphasized that closer cooperation will deliver cost-saving and efficiency improvements. The companies can now design systems that allow operators to mount coils directly in Windak machines, reducing shipping costs and improving handling.

Axjo’s global sales network will also expand market reach and help customers discover new technical capabilities from Windak’s equipment portfolio.

The agreement covers Windak Holding AB and its affiliated companies, including:

  • Windak AB (Sweden)
  • Windak Inc (USA)
  • Windak Australia
  • Windak OU (Estonia)

Windak operates from its headquarters in Järfälla, Sweden, and employs around 67 people across multiple regions. The company generates approximately $11.8 million in annual revenue.

Founded in 1945, Axjo Plastics manufactures cable drums and packaging solutions for cable, fiber, and related industries. The company operates from Gislaved, Sweden, with around 110 employees and strong experience in cable packaging innovation.

Expanded Collaboration and Rental Model

Axjo CEO Jacob Nilsson highlighted plans to integrate product design more closely, ensuring that machines and cable drums align from the earliest stages. The partnership will also introduce a machine rental option, giving customers more flexibility compared to traditional equipment purchases.
