Hexatronic reports submarine cable order, completion of Italian company acquisition

Hexatronic Wins Major European Submarine Cable Orders

Swedish company Hexatronic Group ABย announced newย Hexatronic submarine cable ordersย worth about $8 million. The contracts, managed byย Hexatronic Cables & Interconnect Systems AB, come from several new customers across Europe.

CEO Henrik Larsson Lyon said the new orders confirm the marketโ€™s growing trust in Hexatronicโ€™s wide range of fiber optic and submarine cable solutions. Deliveries will be completed in 2021.

Expanding Through a Strategic Acquisition

Moreover, Hexatronic recently strengthened its European presence through the majority acquisition of Qubix SpA. Based in Italy, Qubix supplies structured cabling systems for telecom networks in buildings and campus facilities.

Qubix also manufactures fiber optic cables for high fire-risk areas and markets structured copper cabling under the CCSยฎ brand. The โ‚ฌ14.4 million deal with Euromicron Holding GmbH gave Hexatronic a 90% ownership stake in the company.

Continuity and Growth in Italy

Founder and general manager Filippo Gnocco will continue leading Qubix and will retain a 10% ownership share. Founded in 2001 as a spin-off from a cable manufacturer, Qubix has built a strong presence in Italyโ€™s telecom market. Over the past year, the company reported an EBITDA of โ‚ฌ3.8 million.

As a result, this acquisition expands Hexatronicโ€™s footprint in Southern Europe. It also strengthens the companyโ€™s role as a leading provider of advanced fiber and copper cabling solutions for digital infrastructure.
