Danieli will supply technology for a new bar and wire rod mill for Ghanaian steelmaker B5Plus Group in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, with 50 tph capacity and startup planned for the third quarter of 2027.

Danieli will supply technology for a new bar and wire rod rolling mill for Ghanaian steel manufacturer B5Plus Group, to be installed in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. Startup is scheduled for the third quarter of 2027.

According to a press release, the mill will have an output capacity of 50 metric tons per hour, or about 300,000 metric tons annually, of long products. The project includes a smooth wire rod line for products ranging from 5.5 mm to 16 mm in diameter, as well as deformed reinforcing bar in diameters from 8 mm to 32 mm.

Danieli’s wire rod package will include a Fast Finishing Block and a laying head for coil formation. The high-technology wire rod equipment will be manufactured at Danieli’s workshop in Italy. The rolling mill will use Danieli automation systems, and the layout allows for a future direct connection to a planned continuous casting machine.

B5Plus serves West African markets. Danieli, an Italy-based supplier of steelmaking, casting and rolling technologies, supplies wire rod and long-products equipment for installations worldwide.
