Ducab to supply 288 km of conductors for GEi renewable energy project in Iraq

Theย Ducab Group GE Renewable Energy partnershipย marks a significant milestone in regional power development. Theย Ducab Groupย (ducab.com), one of the UAEโ€™s largest industrial manufacturers and energy solution providers, has partnered withย GE Renewable Energyโ€™s Grid Solutionsย (www.gegridsolutions.com) to supply overhead conductors for aย 288โ€‘kilometer overhead line (OHL)ย project in Iraq. This initiative strengthens both companiesโ€™ roles in supporting sustainable and reliable energy expansion across the Middle East.

Theย Ducab Group GE Renewable Energy partnershipย supports Iraqโ€™s national plan to become a regional energy hub. The project focuses on building a smarter, more sustainable grid infrastructure that connects electricity betweenย Jordan and the Qaim area in Iraq. Ducab is delivering design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning forย 400โ€‘kilovolt (kV)ย transmission lines as part of Grid Solutionsโ€™ larger electrification program.

Ducabโ€™s involvement helps bridge the gap between power generation and demand in Iraq. In 2019, analysts noted that peak electricity demand reachedย 26 gigawatts (GW)โ€”almost 60% higher than the nationโ€™s generation capacity. This new grid project aims to close that gap, ensuring consistent and reliable energy delivery across the country.

โ€œOur products and services directly impact communities, industries, and nations,โ€ saidย Mohammad A. Almutawa, Chief Revenue Officer at Ducab Group. โ€œBy supplying energy solutions for Iraq, we help ensure reliable power while supporting the countryโ€™s longโ€‘term socioโ€‘economic goals.โ€

Through this collaboration, Ducab showcases the strength of theย โ€œMake it in the Emiratesโ€ย brand, affirming its reputation for quality, innovation, and regional leadership. The partnership demonstrates how an Emirati energy manufacturer can play a pivotal role in international infrastructure development while representing UAE manufacturing excellence abroad.
