Insteel acquires Engineered Wire Products

Insteel Industries, Inc. announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Insteel Wire Products Company, has acquired Engineered Wire Products, Inc. (EWP) for approximately $70 million, subject to typical closing adjustments. The acquisition strengthens Insteelโ€™s position as a leading U.S. manufacturer of steel wire reinforcing products and expands its operational footprint across the Midwest.

How the Insteel Industries Acquisition Engineered Wire Products Strengthens Market Reach

EWP, formerly part of Liberty Steel, produces welded wire reinforcement products used in both residential and nonresidential construction. Its two main manufacturing facilities, located in Upper Sandusky and Warren, Ohio, employ around 120 peopleโ€”now part of the Insteel team.

According to Insteel President and CEO H.O. Woltz III, the acquisition opens new opportunities for market growth. โ€œIntegrating EWPโ€™s operations will improve customer service, extend our Midwestern reach, and lower operating costs through stronger operational synergies,โ€ Woltz said.

Expanding Insteelโ€™s Competitive Advantage

With this acquisition, Insteel gains greater access to key construction markets, improving speed of service and logistical efficiency. These advantages will also enhance the companyโ€™s ability to meet increasing demand for high-quality welded wire reinforcement products.

EWPโ€™s product line aligns closely with Insteelโ€™s strategic direction, providing immediate benefits to the companyโ€™s manufacturing, distribution, and customer delivery programs throughout the region.

Insteelโ€™s Leadership in Reinforcing Solutions

Insteel Industries continues to lead as the largest U.S. manufacturer of steel wire reinforcing products for concrete construction. Its core products include PC strand, engineered structural mesh, concrete pipe reinforcement, and standard welded wire reinforcement.

Headquartered in Mount Airy, North Carolina, Insteel operates 12 manufacturing plants across the country. The Insteel Industries acquisition Engineered Wire Products adds two strategically located Ohio facilities, solidifying Insteelโ€™s ability to serve customers faster and more efficiently while driving innovation and sustainability in the construction industry.
