JDR Cable Systems Eolmed Offshore Wind Project Advances Franceโs Clean Energy Goals
JDR Cable Systems, part of theย TFKโฏGroup, signed a contract to supply and installย 66โฏkV dynamic interโarray cablesย forย Qairโs Eolmed floating offshore wind projectย in southern France. This important project further strengthens JDRโs global leadership in offshore renewable power solutions.
Building Offshore Wind Infrastructure in France
Theย Eolmed wind farmย will sitย 18โฏkilometers off the coastย nearย Gruissanย andย PortโLaโNouvelleย in theย Occitanieโฏregion. When complete, it will produceย aroundโฏ100โฏmillionโฏkWh of electricity each year, connecting directly to theย French Electricity TransmissionโฏNetworkโฏ(RTE).
The site will featureย three floating turbinesย anchored inย 60โmeterโdeep waters. Together, they will generateย 30โฏmegawattsย of renewable capacity. This development adds a key milestone to Franceโs growing offshore wind portfolio.
Coordinated Production Across Europe
JDR will manufacture theย 66โฏkV cablesย atย TFKโฏGroupโs Bydgoszczโฏplant inโฏPolandย and complete assembly and testing at itsย Hartlepoolโฏfacility inโฏtheโฏU.K.ย The company aims to complete the project by theย second half ofโฏ2024.

This initiative aligns with Franceโs plan to reachย 40โฏGW of offshore wind capacity byโฏ2050.
