Kato Cableย is expanding itsย manufacturing plant in Mankato, Minnesota, as part of its continued growth. The expansion reinforces the companyโs long-term commitment to innovation, customer service, and American-made cable assemblies.
Founded in 2006 by Chairman and CEO Eric Else, Kato Cable began by producing harnesses for the power generation industry. Over the years, the company diversified its product line to include custom wire harnesses and assemblies for sectors such as medical, marine, industrial, motorcycle, agricultural, and oil and gas applications.
Operating from aย 12-acre campus, the company built its original facility in 2006 and expanded it in 2015. Now, a newย 40,000-square-foot additionย to theย Power Drive campusย will further increase capacity and efficiency.
According to the Mankato Free Press, Kato Cable plans to boost its workforce from 135 to more than 200 employees within three to five years after the projectโs completion. The companyโs most recent expansion follows its 2021 acquisition of additional space in North Mankato, which quickly filled due to strong demand.
With this latest growth, Kato Cable continues to strengthen its role in supporting industries across both domestic and international markets.
Beyond business expansion, Kato Cableโs products often have personal meaning for its employees. Engineering Manager Matt Lukasek shared that a medical robot using Kato Cable components played a role in his own life-saving heart procedure.
