Lake Cable expands operations with a plant located near its existing site in Valparaiso

Lake Cable Opens New Valparaiso Expansion

Lake Cable, a fourth-generation U.S. wire and cable manufacturer, officially opened its newest expansion onย October 16โ€”aย 180,000-square-footย facility inย Valparaiso, Indiana. The new building, formerly owned by bearings producer Regal Beloit, sits adjacent to Lake Cableโ€™s existing Evans Avenue plant.

Commitment to Community and Growth

โ€œLake Cable is proud to be part of the Valparaiso community,โ€ saidย Bill Runzel, CEO of Lake Cable, during the grand opening ceremony alongside city, state, and local leaders. He added that the new facility allows the company to continue growing its successfulย industrial power insulated cableย business.

Since launching the Valparaiso operation in 2013, Lake Cable has expanded toย 368,000 square feet under roofย and employs nearlyย 200 local team members. In just the last two years, the company has invested overย $7.5 millionย in new production equipment. Over the next few years, Lake Cable plans to add new manufacturing lines and create more jobs for Valparaiso residents.

Facility Expansion Strengthens Operations

The Regal Beloit building had long been on Lake Cableโ€™s radar. When it recently became available, the company saw the opportunity to enhance capacity and efficiency. The siteโ€™s excellent condition and convenient location made it an ideal addition to support Lake Cableโ€™s ongoing expansion strategy.

Leading the U.S. Cable Manufacturing Industry

Founded in 1995, Lake Cable employsย more than 620 peopleย across five locations inย Indianaย andย Illinois. The company designs and producesย UL-listed low-voltage electronic,ย industrial,ย utility,ย custom OEM, andย broadcast-qualityย cables. Its products serve a variety of industries that demand reliability and performance from their electrical systems.
