LC C&S reports off-shore cable contract

LS Cable & System Expands Offshore Wind Presence

LS Cable & Systemย (LS C&S) will supply submarine cables worth about $85 million toย Taiwan Power Company (TPC)ย for a new offshore wind farm on Taiwanโ€™s west coast. The order comes fromย Foxwell Energy, a local renewable energy company managing the construction.

Taiwan plans to complete a 5.5 GW offshore wind project by 2025 โ€” its first large-scale wind farm. In addition, the nation aims to add 15 GW of new capacity in the coming years to strengthen its renewable energy transition.

Strengthening Taiwanโ€™s Offshore Wind Projects

By winning this major contract, LS C&S gained the exclusive right to supply ultra-high-voltage submarine cables for all eight sub-projects within Taiwanโ€™s first wind farm initiative. So far, the total project value has reached nearlyย 900 billion won (USโ€ฏ$697โ€ฏmillion). This achievement highlights the companyโ€™s growing influence in Asiaโ€™s offshore wind market.

According toย BusinessKorea, an LS C&S official said the company expects around two trillion won (USโ€ฏ$1.5โ€ฏbillion) in new submarine cable orders beginning this year. Moreover, LS C&S plans to expand through strong global partnerships and market collaboration.

Expanding Capabilities and Global Partnerships

To strengthen its installation capacity, LS C&S recently acquired a stake inย KT Submarineย โ€” a specialist in underwater cable installations. This partnership allows the two companies to deliver integrated offshore cable systems more efficiently.

LS C&S has also expanded cooperation with leading offshore wind developers, including ร˜rsted and CIP in Denmark, Jan De Nul in Belgium, and WPD in Germany. Through these partnerships, the company accelerates its expansion into European and North American markets while supporting the global transition to clean energy.
