LS Cable gets preferred supplier status for Taiwanese offshore wind farm project

LS Cable & Systemย has signed aย preferred supply agreementย withย Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP)ย to provide offshore and onshore cables forย Feng Miao 1, CIPโ€™s third offshore wind project in Taiwan. This collaboration marks another strong step in advancing the regionโ€™s renewable energy development.

Under the agreement,ย LS Cableย will supplyย offshore export cables,ย inter-array cables, andย onshore export cablesย from its advanced production facilities inย South Korea. These cable systems will connect key parts of theย 500 MW Feng Miao 1 offshore wind farm, ensuring reliable power transmission to the Taiwan grid.

This represents theย fourth collaborationย betweenย LS Cableย andย CIPย on offshore wind projects across Asia, followingย Changfang Xidaoย andย Zhong Nengย in Taiwan andย Jeonnam Offshore Wind 1ย in South Korea. The continued partnership demonstrates both companiesโ€™ commitment to expanding clean, sustainable energy infrastructure throughout the region.

CIP securedย Feng Miao 1ย during Taiwanโ€™sย Round 3 Zonal Development Offshore Wind Auctionย in 2022. The project is now in its late development stage, with teams finalizing design and procurement activities before reaching financial close.

Located aboutย 35 kilometers off the coast of Taichungย in central Taiwan, Feng Miao 1 is expected to beginย construction in 2025ย and enterย commercial operation by 2027. CIP continues to expand its regional portfolio, which already includes Taiwanโ€™sย 589 MW Changfang and Xidaoย project and theย 298 MW Zhong Nengย offshore wind farm.

Theย Feng Miao 1 projectย builds on a growing track record of cooperation betweenย LS Cableย andย CIP. Together, they continue to advance offshore wind technology and support Asiaโ€™s energy transition with reliable, high-performance cable solutions.

Through this partnership, both companies aim to reinforce their leadership in theย global renewable energyย industry and contribute to a more sustainable energy future.
