LS Cable & System Indonesia Power Cable Plant Overview
On April 1, 2022,ย LS Cable & System (LSCS)โthe cable manufacturing arm ofย LS Groupโofficially opened theย LS Cable & System Indonesia power cable plant. The new facility strengthens LSCSโs presence in Southeast Asia and supports growing demand for transmission and building cables across the region.
The plant, calledย LSAGI, operates as a joint venture betweenย LS Cable & Systemย andย Artha Graha Network, Indonesiaโs 10thโlargest conglomerate. LSCS holds aย 75% stake, which gives the Korean company strategic control while it benefits from Artha Grahaโs local market knowledge and relationships.
LS Cable & System Indonesia Power Cable Plant Location and Products
The LS Cable & System Indonesia power cable plant sits on aย 64,000โsquareโmeter siteย in theย Artha Industrial Complexย near Jakarta. From this location, the facility primarily producesย overhead wires for power transmission and distribution, along withย lowโvoltage cablesย for buildings and industrial plants.
These product lines allow LSCS to support national grid projects, infrastructure builds, and commercial construction. At the same time, the plant improves local availability of highโquality power cables and reduces reliance on imported products.
Local Strategy and Market Approach
LS Cable & System plans to expand in Indonesia by leveraging Artha Graha Networkโsย business experience and sales networks, which reach across sectors such asย banking and hospitality. By combining global manufacturing expertise with local channels, LSCS can respond more effectively to customer needs.
Company leadership also notes that many countries now strengthen policies to protect domestic manufacturers. Because of this, LSCS intends toย pursue different strategies for different markets, tailoring its approach to local regulations, customer expectations, and project pipelines.
Capital Relocation and Global Footprint
LS Cable & System expects aย rebound in the cable marketย after the pandemic. One key driver isย Indonesiaโs planned relocation of its capitalย from Jakarta to a new site inย Kalimantan on Borneo island, aย $32 billion megaโprojectย that will require extensive transmission and distribution investment.
Globally, LSCS now operatesย 12 production facilities, including plants in theย United States, Poland, Vietnam, China, and Indonesia. This network positions LS Cable & System to supply power cable solutions quickly and support major grid and infrastructure projects worldwide.
