Madsen Steel Wire Expands with New Michigan Powder Coating Facility

Madsen Steel Wire Productsย has purchased a 100,000โ€‘sqโ€‘ft facility in Bronson, Michigan, to expand its finishing capabilities. The new location will house a bestโ€‘inโ€‘class powder coating line that supports wire products made at the companyโ€™sย Orland, Indianaย headquarters and can finish a wide range of wire and sheet metal parts for customers.

New Powder Coating Line Strengthens One-Stop Shop Offering

The advanced powder coating line will help Madsen Steel Wire Products operate as a true oneโ€‘stop shop for multiple industries. The system can apply durable finishes to a broad mix of components, which reduces outsourcing, shortens lead times, and improves overall process control and product consistency.

State Support for the Madsen Steel Wire Michigan Powder Coating Expansion

The Bronson expansion received full backing from theย Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). In addition, theย Michigan Business Development Program (MBDP)ย is supporting the project with a performanceโ€‘based grant worth $552,000. This funding helps the company invest in new capacity while creating manufacturing jobs and reinvesting in the local community.

Ongoing Investment in Advanced Manufacturing

Company president and ownerย Drew Greenblattย highlighted Michiganโ€™s role as a strong partner in growing U.S. manufacturing. He noted that recent equipment purchases include aย Trumpf TruBend 3000 press brakeย and aย Schlatter MG950 wire welder, which allow the company to produce wire products faster and more efficiently while improving quality.

With the addition of the new powder coating line in Bronson, Madsen further reduces overall manufacturing time and continues to focus on its promise of โ€œhighest quality, fastest delivery.โ€v
