Manner Polymers Illinois Sustainable PVC Facility Expansion

Manner Polymers plans to investย $54 millionย in a new, sustainable manufacturing facility inย Mount Vernon, Southern Illinois. Theย Manner Polymers Illinois sustainable PVC facilityย will createย more than 60 jobsย and strengthen the companyโ€™s ability to supply highโ€‘quality PVC compounds to customers across North America.

Design, Automation, and Startup Timeline

The new plant will focus onย automation and redundancy, so it can deliver consistent quality, lower operating costs, and strong supply reliability. Production is scheduled to start in theย summer of 2025, giving Manner Polymers more capacity just as demand for cable and polymer compounds continues to rise.

Markets Served by the New Plant

Manner Polymers serves a wide range of industries, and this new facility will support them more effectively. Key markets include:

  • Automotive and appliance

  • Construction and telecommunications

  • Industrial, medical, and agriculture

Typical applications includeย cable and wire jacketing, plus insulation compounds forย fiber optic cables, data transmission cables, coaxial cables, patch cords, and shielded/unshielded twisted pairs. As a result, the plant will play a major role in supporting modern connectivity and infrastructure.

Capacity Increase and Solar-Powered Operations

Theย Manner Polymers Illinois sustainable PVC facilityย will increase the companyโ€™s annual production capacity byย 100 million pounds. In addition, the plant will draw most of its electricity from an on-siteย 15โ€‘acre solar field, which helps cut emissions and supports longโ€‘term sustainability goals.

CEOย Raj Bhargavaย says the company will combine bestโ€‘inโ€‘class manufacturing technology with onโ€‘site renewable energy. His objective is clear: build theย lowestโ€‘cost, highestโ€‘quality, most environmentally sustainable flexible PVC compounding plantย in the world. He expects the new facility to be truly transformational, with industryโ€‘leading capabilities and a strong cleanโ€‘energy footprint.
