Manner Polymers Illinois Solar Manufacturing Facility Expands U.S. Production

Manner Polymers announced a $54 million investment to build a new solar‑powered manufacturing plant in Mount Vernon, Illinois. The Manner Polymers Illinois solar manufacturing facility will create 60 new jobs and support the company’s commitment to clean energy and sustainable production.

Clean Energy Powers Increased Capacity

The new 80,000‑square‑foot facility will run on electricity generated by a 15‑acre on‑site solar field. This renewable energy source will power operations while keeping costs low and improving supply reliability. Production is set to begin in the fall of 2025, doubling Manner Polymers’ capacity by 100 million pounds annually once fully operational.

CEO Raj Bhargava emphasized the company’s sustainability goals. “Our goal is to build the lowest‑cost, highest‑quality, and most environmentally sustainable flexible PVC compounding plant in the world,” he said. “We’ll integrate world‑class technology while producing nearly all the electricity we use.”

Illinois Welcomes Solar Investment

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker praised the company’s choice to bring the project to the state. “I couldn’t be prouder that Manner Polymers has selected Illinois for their state‑of‑the‑art 100% solar‑powered facility,” he said.

The company evaluated several states, including ArkansasMissouriIndianaKentucky, and Tennessee, before choosing Illinois for its accessible infrastructure and renewable energy programs.
