Marmon Fastener Company, a unit of Berkshire Hathawayโs Marmon Holdings, now leases a ready-built factory at BW Nhon Trach 1 Industrial Park in Dong Nai Province, establishing its first production base in Vietnam. The 6,090 sq m facility supports Marmonโs plan to manufacture fastenersโspecifically screws and related productsโfor the North American market, strengthening supply chain resilience while keeping a strong U.S. focus.
The company worked with Savills Vietnamโs Industrial Services team and landlord BW Industrial Development JSC to secure the site. President Steve Semmler said Marmon partnered with Savills for more than two years to identify the right facility and chose BW Nhon Trach 1 because leasing a ready-built factory lets the company accelerate market entry while it evaluates long-term options.
BW Industrial CEO Lance Li explained that leasing can cut ramp-up time to roughly six to nine months, giving global manufacturers speed and flexibility before they commit to a build-to-suit facility. Marmon views the Vietnam plant as a strategic production hub rather than a simple export base, leveraging Dong Naiโs skilled labor, competitive costs, stable growth and strong industrial infrastructure to build a more flexible and cost-effective global supply chain that aligns with Berkshire Hathawayโs broader manufacturing portfolio.
