Mayer Braiding GmbH merges with former parent company Mayer & Cie. GmbH & Co.

Mayer Braidtech Mayer & Cie. Merger Completed

At the end of 2020,ย Mayer Braidtech GmbHย officially merged with its former parent companyย Mayer & Cie. GmbH & Co. KG. Thisย Mayer Braidtech Mayer & Cie. mergerย creates a dedicated braiding machine division within Mayer & Cie. and completes the formal integration of braiding operations at the companyโ€™s Albstadt headquarters.

Following the merger, braiding machine production and sales now operate as a separate business unit inside Mayer & Cie. This step follows a multiโ€‘year transition that began in January 2019, when Mayer & Cie. started producing braiding machines in Albstadt. Previously, its sister companyย Mayer Industriesย manufactured these machines in Orangeburg, South Carolina, to make reinforcements for highโ€‘pressure hoses.

Dedicated Braiding Division in Albstadt

โ€œWith the integration of Mayer Braidtech into Mayer & Cie. GmbH & Co. KG, we have formally completed a process that, for us, has long been accomplished on a dayโ€‘toโ€‘day basis,โ€ saidย Patrick Moser, business unit manager of Mayer Braidtech and future head of Mayer & Cie.โ€™s braiding division.

Moser explained that braiding machine production in Albstadt has run at full capacity since early 2019, while sales have been based there for even longer. As a result, braiding machines already feel like โ€œold friendsโ€ at the main factory. He also highlighted strong synergies between circular knitting and braiding machine production in areas such as manpower, logistics, and everyday collaboration. โ€œWe definitely benefit from one another,โ€ he said, noting that the combined setup encourages knowledge sharing and operational efficiency.
