New Kocks rolling mill starts production at Chinese plant in Shangdong province

Kocks Group Yantai Walsin RSB 370++/4 Launch Marks New Era in Steel Production

Germany’s Kocks Group announced that Yantai Walsin Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. has started production using its new RSB® 370++/4 sizing block. The advanced system increases efficiency, improves surface quality, and enhances dimensional accuracy across multiple steel product applications.

Latest Technology Enhances Precision and Performance

The RSB 370++/4 mill represents Kocks’ latest innovation in long product rolling technology. It delivers superior output quality while lowering operating costs throughout the production line. The Kocks Group Yantai Walsin RSB 370++/4 launch integrates improved mechanical design and intelligent control to achieve optimum performance for stainless steel processing.

Strengthening a Longstanding Partnership

Yantai Walsin, a subsidiary of Walsin Lihwa Corporation in Taiwan, continues a strong partnership with Kocks that began over three decades ago. Walsin Lihwa installed its first Kocks Reducing & Sizing Block (RSB) in 1991 and has since added several Kocks systems, including the RSB 500 Intermediate Block and RB 500++/4 in its Tainan rolling mill.

This latest installation in Yantai, Shandong province, builds on that legacy while supporting special bar quality (SBQ) product manufacturing.

High‑Precision Sizing for Diverse Applications

The new RSB 370++/4 includes four 3‑roll stand positions that optimize deformation and yield strength. The system processes round dimensions from 18 to 100 mm and hexagonal shapes from 18 to 80 mm, as well as feeders for the wire rod line. Positioned after 20 H/V‑arranged stands, it ensures uniform material flow and consistent output quality.

Smart Software Integration for Real‑Time Control

In addition to the sizing block, Kocks Group delivered complete roll‑shop equipment and proprietary digital software solutions. The 4D Eagle® measuring gauge and Size Control System (SCS®) enable real‑time process adjustments. This technology ensures precise rolling parameters, transparent monitoring, and rapid correction capability during operation, improving both consistency and efficiency.

By introducing the RSB 370++/4Yantai Walsin significantly strengthens its production capabilities while reinforcing its commitment to advanced, sustainable manufacturing.
