Nexans reports setting company record

Nexansโ€™ Halden plant in Norway has set a new record as the cable-laying vessel Nexans Aurora departed with 9,731 tons of subsea cable, the largest load in the companyโ€™s history and surpassing a 2023 record by 256 tons. The expanded high-voltage subsea facility, featuring Norwayโ€™s tallest building and advanced extrusion capacity, underpins this scale of production and supports major offshore wind, interconnector, and electrification projects worldwide.

Nexansย reports a major achievement at itsย Halden plant in Norway, marking a newย Nexans Halden plant record. The cable-laying vesselย Nexans Auroraย departed carryingย 9,731 tons of subsea cable, the largest load in the companyโ€™s history. This milestone surpasses the previous 2023 Oseberg Project record byย 256 tons.

โ€œThis record is a new benchmark for both Nexans Aurora and the Halden facility,โ€ the company stated. The plant has supplied large-scale cable solutions since 1976, starting with its first delivery to Nexans Skagerrak.

Haldenโ€™s expanded high-voltage subsea cable facility, completed in early 2024, made the record possible. The upgrade more than doubled cable production capacity for both HVDC and HVAC cables. The plant now employs about 1,000 people. It also features Norwayโ€™s tallest buildingโ€”its second extrusion towerโ€”allowing insulation of four cables at once.

This latestย Nexans Halden plant recordย showcases Haldenโ€™s central role in Nexansโ€™ global operations. The facility supports keyย offshore wind,ย interconnector, andย electrification projectsย worldwide. These efforts reinforce Nexansโ€™ position as a leader in sustainable and clean energy infrastructure.
