Orient Cable Hollandse Kust West Beta Project Powers Dutch Offshore Wind

Orient Cable, in partnership withย Boskalis, secured theย Hollandse Kust West Beta export cable contractย fromย TenneT. Theย Orient Cable Hollandse Kust West Beta projectย will connect aย 700 MW offshore wind farmย to the Netherlandsโ€™ onshore grid, helping the country move closer to its renewable energy targets.

This collaboration showcases how global expertise is driving Europeโ€™s transition to cleaner power.

Delivering Export Cable Systems for Clean Energy

The contract includesย two 65-kilometer-long 220 kV export cablesย linking theย Hollandse Kust West Beta substationย toย Wijk aan Zee, where they will connect with TenneTโ€™s onshore infrastructure. In addition, Orient Cable will supply aย nine-kilometer 66 kV interconnectorย to connect theย Hollandse Kust West Alphaย andย Betaย offshore substations.

Boskalis will complete the offshore cable installation using its advanced marine equipment. Together, the companies will support efficient grid connection and stable renewable power delivery.

Manufacturing High-Quality Subsea Cables

Orient Cable willย design, engineer, and manufactureย the 220 kVย XLPE-insulated cablesย and associated accessories at itsย Ningbo, China facility. This site, recognized as the worldโ€™s largest producer of high- and extra-high-voltage subsea cables, provides modern manufacturing and testing technology.

With this expertise, Orient Cable ensures reliable products that meet the demands of long-distance power transmission under harsh marine conditions.

Strengthening Renewable Infrastructure in the Netherlands

Theย Hollandse Kust West Beta projectย is expected to be completed inย 2025. Once operational, it will transmit renewable power to millions of homes and reduce the nationโ€™s reliance on fossil fuels.

By supportingย TenneTโ€™sย offshore initiatives,ย Orient Cableย helps drive the Netherlandsโ€™ goal to cut carbon emissions byย 49% by 2030, building a more sustainable energy network for future generations.
