Prysmian Group Secures $952.8 Million Clean Path New York Contract
Prysmian Groupย has signed aย $952.8 million agreementย withย Clean Path New Yorkย to deliver advanced submarine and land-based cable systems. The collaboration supports one of the largest renewable transmission projects ever built in the United States.
Powering New Yorkโs Clean Energy Goals
Theย Clean Path New Yorkย project represents anย $11 billion renewable energy investment. It combines more thanย 3,800 MW of solar and wind powerย from over 20 new generation resources. In addition, aย 175-mile underground and submarine transmission lineย will deliver clean power across the state.
Together, these systems will provideย 7.5 million megawatt-hoursย of emissions-free electricity each yearโenough to powerย 1.5 million homes. As a result, the project plays a key role in helping New York transition toward a lower-carbon future.
Collaboration That Drives Innovation
Clean Path New York brings togetherย Invenergy,ย energyRe, and theย New York Power Authority. This public-private partnership aims to strengthen the stateโs grid and help achieve New Yorkโs target ofย 70% renewable electricity by 2030.
Under the contract, Prysmian willย design, manufacture, construct, install, and commissionย aย 400 kV HVDC single-core cable systemย with XLPE insulation. Work will begin once Clean Path New York issues its โnotice to proceed,โ expected inย Spring 2024.
Reinforcing Prysmianโs Industry Leadership
โWe are proud to support Clean Path New York in reaching its climate ambitions,โ saidย Hakan Ozmen, Executive Vice President, Projects Business Unit at Prysmian Group. โThis is not only one of the largest power transmission projects in New York but also among the first 400 kV HVDC interconnectors we are delivering worldwide.โ
