Prysmian Group has signed a framework agreement with Enedis to supply medium-voltage cables for France’s grid modernization. This Prysmian Enedis cable agreement, valued at up to €550 million, will run from 2026 to 2032, with an option to extend for three more years.
Supporting Grid Upgrades with Domestic Manufacturing
Prysmian will produce the cables at its facilities in Gron and Montereau-Fault-Yonne. By manufacturing locally, the company strengthens supply chain reliability and supports French industrial capacity.
At the same time, the agreement contributes to Enedis’s broader plan to modernize infrastructure and integrate renewable energy into the grid.
Advancing Sustainability and Circular Materials
The Prysmian Enedis cable agreement emphasizes sustainable materials and circular practices. The cables will include more than 12% recycled aluminum, over 30% recycled copper, and recycled polyethylene for outer layers.
As a result, both companies are reducing environmental impact while maintaining high-performance standards. This collaboration demonstrates how utilities and manufacturers can align on carbon reduction goals.
Strengthening Long-Term Growth Strategy
The agreement supports Prysmian’s “Accelerating Growth” strategy, which targets over 55% of revenue from sustainable solutions by 2028. In addition, the company aims to achieve net-zero Scope 3 emissions by 2035.
Prysmian operates nine manufacturing facilities and four R&D centers in France and employs approximately 2,500 people. Therefore, this agreement further strengthens its leadership in energy transition projects and advanced grid technologies.
