Sampsistemi Expands China Operations to Boost Wire and Cable Production
The Sampsistemi China expansion marks a strategic move to strengthen production capacity and support growing demand in the global wire and cable industry. As part of Italy’s SAMP Group, Sampsistemi continues to invest in advanced manufacturing and innovation.
Sampsistemi China Expansion Strengthens Manufacturing Capacity
Sampsistemi has announced plans to expand its subsidiary, Sampsistemi (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., following its acquisition of Setic and Pourtier, two leading French companies formerly part of the Gauder Group.
The company will invest in expanding the Setic plant in Changzhou, located in the Xinbei District. This expansion will increase the production area from 6,400 square meters to 10,000 square meters, along with an additional 2,600 square meters of office space.
Advanced Facilities and R&D Capabilities
Sampsistemi will equip the upgraded facility with state-of-the-art assembly lines for wire and cable machinery. In addition, the site will include an enhanced research and development center with a dedicated testing laboratory.
By consolidating production into a single location, Sampsistemi will streamline operations and combine technical expertise from Setic and Pourtier. As a result, the company will deliver greater value and more advanced solutions to its customers.
Strategic Growth in the Global Market
According to SAMP Group CEO Lapo Vivarelli Colonna, the acquisition of Setic and Pourtier completes a three-year strategic initiative. This plan strengthens Sampsistemi’s position as a single-source provider for advanced wire and cable solutions.
Furthermore, the expansion enhances the company’s ability to serve China, the world’s largest wire and cable market. It also supports continued growth in international markets.
Sampsistemi operates under the Maccaferri Industrial Group, a global organization with 58 production plants, 4,600 employees, and annual revenues of approximately €1.2 billion.
